It was a big win for inclusivity within retail when we designed a fully recyclable wheelchair basketball mannequin for Sports Direct

Producing Sports Direct's first fully recyclable inclusive mannequins was a privilege for the team at MC Displays.

Inclusivity within retail is a subject that is very close to our hearts. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to help such a well-known brand provide a more inclusive shopping environment for all of its customers.

Using 3D technology we created the brand's first fully sustainable wheelchair basketball mannequin.

Representing just one of the 1.2million wheelchair users here in the U.K the mannequin is a move in the right direction. We certainly hope more retailers take steps towards creating a more inclusive environment within their stores to make more wheelchair users feel welcome and valued as customers.

More than 13 million people in the UK are living with a disability. That's a fifth of the population who don't currently feel catered for within the average store environment.

A slam dunk for sustainable mannequins

Research shows that 75% of disabled people have had to leave a store or website, unable to go through with their purchase because of their disability

Understandably, disabled shoppers feel like businesses are turning their backs on them. Disabled people are spending £168 on retail each month with millions of pounds of potential revenue lost.

We want to encourage more businesses to have the confidence to improve their services and environments for disabled people. To help them implement small changes that can make a big difference to the experience of disabled customers within their stores.
